Welcome to all worshiping with us today, especially those of you who are guests among us. We hope you will make yourselves known to those sitting near you by signing the Registration pad. Once it has passed to the far end of the row, please pass it back to where it started. Immediately after the service, please introduce yourself to Pastor Kevin or someone from the welcome committee wearing sashes on their nametags.

Children and Sunday School: Children are welcome in worship. We also provide childcare during the 10:00 AM worship service. Our well equipped nursery is for children up to 3 years old.  School age children have Children's Church following the Children's Message.  Children are welcome to go to Children's Church or return to sit with their family.

Sandwich Sunday:  Next weekend is Sandwich Sunday.  There will be coolers in the Narthex where prepared sandwiches can be placed as well as in the freezer in the hallway by the kitchen.  Thanks for contributing to this worthy cause.

All-Church Quarterly Town Hall Meeting  Sunday, January 28th ~ 8:45-9:45 a.m.
It would be ideal to have a good turn-out for this important meeting. These town-hall type of meetings are instrumental in how we communicate with one another as a church. There will be important discussion of plans for 2017 and an update on our finances. As always, this is a good time to bring any questions, concerns, or ideas that you may have for discussion by the whole body.

Christmas Undecorating.  We are looking for folks who can assist in taking down the Christmas decorations after the 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Any help would be appreciated.

Sidewalk Shoveling Volunteers Needed!    The snow is here. Remember, if you need to shovel your walk at home, chances are the church needs clearing too—so put this on your “to do” list and help keep our side-walks safe. Shovels are at the church, but you might like your own better. We do need new volunteers. All of our reliable snow pushers will be gone January 15th-25th. This is the time of year when the snow is lightest; a nice opportunity to ease into the job. Please contact John Brand if you are interested in helping out with this essential service..

The Letter by Kathryn Hughes:
Tina Craig longs to escape her violent husband. She works all the hours God sends to save up enough money to leave him, also volunteering in a charity shop to avoid her unhappy home. Whilst going through the pockets of a second-hand suit, she comes across an old letter, the envelope firmly sealed and unfranked. Tina opens the letter and reads it – a decision that will alter the course of her life for ever…

Billy Stirling knows he has been a fool, but hopes he can put things right. On 4th September 1939 he sits down to write the letter he hopes will change his future. It does – in more ways than he can ever imagine…

Ruby's Pantry. Food distribution will take place on Monday January 15th, at Glendale UMC in Savage.  Volunteers can just show up at Glendale anytime between 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to help for a few minutes or for a few hours. If you have any questions, please call Lynn Kilian at 651-315-1647 or go to glendalechurchumc.org/index.php/rubys-pantry.

Ruby’s Pantry is a non-profit organization that gathers food donations from local retailers and brings them to their distribution sites over Minnesota and Wisconsin. For more information on Ruby’s Pantry’s Mission.
How it works:  Every 3rd Monday of each month Glendale’s sanctuary & fellowship hall are turned into a distribution site. Registration begins at 4:30 PM and runs until 6:00 PM.

In Need of Love.  Our nursery has a well-loved toy that needs some love! The train table in the nursery gets played with a TON. It is starting to show major wear. Lots of pieces have come apart and the trains need a little love to get going again. The pieces to fix it are in the cupboard.
What we need is someone who can putter with it and screw the tracks back in, get the engines going and generally make it sturdy. Maybe a January afternoon project to break up winter’s boredom?  If this sounds like something you are able to do and would like to help, contact Molly Berg.

Solar Oven Partners.  Volunteer for a Mission with Solar Oven Partners in Sierra Leone! Work side-by-side with oven recipients during three 2-day seminars assembling ovens and cooking in them, and breaking bread together when the solar-cooked meals are ready! Dates are April 16th-28th. Solar cooking addresses issues of poverty, deforestation and health. Contact Director Marj Evans-de-Carpio at 605-692-3391 or sopdir@swiftel.net for more information..
