United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Transitional plan. The Grace UMW group is transitioning many of their activities to the congregation. A core group of four women will serve to guide, facilitate and communicate. For 2016, they are Myrle Riffe-Helkenn, lynn Killian, Vicky Kline and Nancy Milne. Our goals will be to share information, especially from the district, account for all financial transactions, maintain and strengthen our support of Emma Norton and serve as a catalyst for ideas, programs and activities which may include the entire congregation. Currently, there are two major changes. Grace's Attic, our annual rummage sale, and funeral luncheons (and similar events) will become functions of the entire congregation. We will maintain our UMW Sunday, mission pledges to the district and our support of Emma Norton. This includes collecting supplies for their facilities, working on or donating furnishings for the room remodeling, sponsoring a monthly birthday party for residents and hosting the annual jazz concert to raise funds for their continuing work. All are welcome.
